We are here to create connections within the African Diaspora and work together to improve the representation of Black people in North Hertfordshire.
ABOUT
We are the North Herts African and Caribbean Community group and we are an umbrella organisation founded in 2020 to support the African, Caribbean, Mixed Race and other Black Community share our culture and heritage with the wider community of North Hertfordshire. We support the community through social prescribing, events, fundraising, celebrations, history lessons, mentoring, personal development and community action.
We hope to impact conversations on race and identity in the whole of Hertfordshire. This first stage of our project will focus on all of the residents of North Herts especially in Hitchin and Letchworth.
The overall aim of the project being to promote Black History and culture to everyone to help with building understanding and forbearance, while empowering people from the Black Community to strive for better opportunities and quality of life for ourselves.
We aim to empower the community as a whole by ensuring all parts of it have an improved sense of identity and an improved quality of life.
