WHAT WE DO
The NHACC is a voluntary, community organisation that works to improve the quality of life for African, African Caribbean, Mixed Race and other people from the Black community in North Hertfordshire. With a proud track record of being a one-stop hub for information, advice and guidance in the region, we run celebratory and fundraising activities, provide local support, drive community action and more! The cornerstones of our service are to:

SHARE BLACK CULTURE, HISTORY AND HERITAGE
• Festivals, celebrations and Workshops
• Windrush Day
• Beyond Black History Month
• Black History and Culture Talks
• Carnival Camp
• Art ’N’ History
• Advocacy

PROVIDE INFORMATION, ADVOCACY AND GUIDANCE
• Windrush advocacy service
• General advocacy including housing and benefits advice
• Partnering with health agencies to promote, protect and restore health in the community
• Working with the local council, the Police and local groups to share knowledge

HELP RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY THE WINDRUSH SCANDAL
• Advocacy support to help people in the community to get Windrush justice
• Signposting to experienced caseworkers
• Supporting people through the process, step by step
• Helping those who are yet to be
• Naturalised to make Status claims

MAKE CONNECTIONS WITH THE REGION’S YOUTH TO NURTURE BETTER OUTCOMES FOR THEIR FUTURE
• Working with schools, the local council and Police to tackle inequality and adversity
• Community action to address local issues
